John has been arrested for the murder of a two-year old girl. The police suspect that John

has buried the body in an open field near Belmont Abbey College. The police and friends

organize a search party to look for the body in that open field. At the same time, John is being

interrogated without being Mirandized. He confesses to the murder and tells the police where

the body is buried. The police go to that location, which is in the open field, find the body and

call off the search party. At trial, John's attorney moves to suppress the confession and the

body since it was discovered as a result of the confession.
