Johnny owes Sam some money for dogsitting. Johnny sends Sam a personal check in the amount of $100. Sam decides he wants to use this check to repay his friend Pat for yardwork, and lets Pat know he intends to sign the check over. Pat is hesitant, and suggests that his uncle, Mr. James, sign the check as well. Mr. James was fine with this idea. So, Pat takes the check, originally from Johnny, that is now signed by Sam and Mr. James.
