Kageni is an employee of Tala Ltd. He has provided the following details relating to his employment income and other benefits for the year ended 31st December 2020.

  1. Monthlysalary shs. 124,000 (PAYE tax Sh. 24,100)
  2. An annual bonus of sh. 750,000
  3. The company provided him with flight tickets to travel upcountry to visit his family sh. 20,000
  4. A life insurance cover paid for by the company,whose annual insurance premium amounted to Sh.72,000.
  5. A motor vehicle (2000 cc) whose cost was Sh.1,800,000 at the time of acquisition on 1 January 2018.
  6. He is a member of the company's registered pension scheme where he contributes 20% of his basic salary.
  7. The company paid medical bills amounting to Sh.1,200,000 following the hospitalization of his son. The company however does not pay for medical expenses incurred by other employees
  8. Hw was provided with a fully furnished house. The cost of thefurniture was shs.240,000.
  9. He contributed sh. 40,000 in that year towards a home ownership savings plan
  10. Kageni has other incomes from rental property sh. 640,000 p.a.
