Karina works as a hairdresser at a busy salon in the city center.

"I've been working here for about five years. It's OK$,$ I guess. There are much worse places to work. I've got to know most of our customers really well now and I enjoy all the gossip. We work really long hours though, and it's tough being on your feet all day. It's very tiring, and it's not very well$-$paid.

The worst part about this job is that some customers have very crazy ideas. Sometimes they come in with a photo to show me the style that they want, but there is no way these women are ever going to look like Scarlett Johansson or Selena Gomez. Still, we have to listen and smile and do the best we can. Sometimes I feel like strangling some of them..."
