PURPOSE

Organizations constantly face a broad variety of threats that can impact their ability to function. These threats can include natural and man-made events. Without a Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan in place, organizations can face dire consequences. You are required to develop a Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan for a small organization.

Instruction

There is a need to set forth a Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan You can create a notional organization or reference a real-world small organization. All information in the plan should be based on notional information (please do not include real names or other private/sensitive information). For the risk assessment and business impact analysis (BIA), you can provide theoretical/speculative results. It is important that the remainder of the plan aligns with the information derived from the risk assessment and BIA results.

NOte - YOu are not required to provide definitions. YOu are required to provide a small disaster recovery and business continuity plan for a notional organization or real world example including the sections provided below

The combined Business Continuity and Business Continuity Plan at a minimum should include the following components:

    • Plan objectives
    • Risk assessment results
    • Business impact analysis (BIA) results
    • Risk mitigation and prevention steps
    • Response steps
    • Contingencies (remote locations for employees)

    • Recovery time objectives (RTOs)
    • Recovery point objectives (RPOs)
    • Emergency and recovery plan
    • Personnel plan
    • Communications plan
    • Vendors, suppliers, and third parties
    • Contractors
  • Other
    • Training plan
    • Testing plan
    • Auditing plan
    • Maintenance plan

Note: No specific format is required, but you should leverage a template that covers the required components. An Internet search will result in multiple examples of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans, as well as blank templates that can be used.
