Laughter is emotion or state that a person can go through to feel happiness. The brain cannot identify if the person is laughing for real or not and so even if they are fake laughing the brain still acts upon the idea that the person is laughing and executes a process where the body will increase oxygen intake which benefits your entire body. It simulates your hearts, lungs, muscles, and increases endorphins that are released by your brain. Another process your brain does is it activates and relieves your stress response where laughing essentially reduces your stress and makes you feel more calm and relaxed as it essentially puts your body in a calm and happy state. It also soothes tension within your body with it simulating circulation and aid muscle relaxation which can reduce the physical effects of stress. Laughter is also good long term with it's benefits to improve your immune system as laughter and positive thoughts can release neuropeptides which helps fight stress and more serious illnesses. It can also relieve pain as it's seen as a natural painkiller, which works quite well due to personal experience but also people when hurt badly have ways to relief the pain and most often times people laugh in order to fight the pain. It also helps with difficult situations as it can essentially relieve you from the toughest situations. It can also improve your mood which is huge as often times people need a way to reduce stress, depression, anxiety and need happiness, and so laughter can help solve that issue and it's quite easy to do so. When doing laughter yoga, at first glance it's seemed very childish to me, as it makes me look like a comedian and often times I get super embarrassed doing it. But because of all of this it makes me laugh hysterically which is the goal of doing this and I gotta say it does make it interesting as it gives me more energy to do things in response as laughing talks a bunch of energy already and spontaneously I get more after laughing which is a benefit I would say. When it comes to doing laughter yoga with friends and family, it's really hard to do so as most of the time they don't really want to do it because it looks weird after watching me do it and so its really hard to persuade them to do it as they know it'll make them look like the way I do. But I understand the effects of laughter yoga, being able to laugh on command like that so that your body goes through the process of laughter not only helps you as a person but helps you feel better about yourself and feel better in general especially once you reach adulthood where your life is busy and stressful. I think the idea as a whole is great and I'm sure there are different ways to achieve the same feeling you get from laughter yoga so that in the future you can use various methods to feel the positive effects of laughter.
