The Task

As a Human Services worker there are many areas of law that you choose to work in. Any area you choose will involve interaction with the law.

Choose one area that you would like to work in as a human services worker from the following list:

Explain why you have chosen the particular area of work? What appeals to you about this area?

As a human services worker, working in the area you identified in Question 1, explain the types of work you would do in this area? Give examples of how you might assist a client?

As a human services worker no matter what field you work in, you will owe a duty of care to your client. Define a duty of care? What does this mean in practice? How will you know if you are meeting your duty of care?
