On arrival, they realise that the prices exceed their budget and they cant afford any dresses in the shop. On the way out, Mary notices that the shop security systems are down, so she picks a pair of gold cufflink worth 5,000 and hides it in her bag.

Mary hands the bag to Jane as soon as they step out of the shop because she needed to attend her weekly appointment with her psychologist. She promised to visit Jane the next day to collect the bag. During her meeting with the psychologist, Mary was diagnosed with kleptomania. Meanwhile, the police were alerted by the shop that a pair of gold cufflink had gone missing, and they provided CCTV footage of the suspects.

Jane was arrested in her apartment that evening and the cufflink was found inside the bag in her bedroom. She argues that the bag belongs to Mary. Mary was arrested the next day.
