Welcome to Week 1! Let's get to know each other.

This is my own post. (Hello, Professor, and to all my classmates! Nathan Schirk is my name, and I was born and raised in Phenix City, Alabama. I am now located in Savannah, Georgia. I am now serving in the Active-duty Army. I've been in service for 15 years. I am employed in the field of Logistics. When I'm not preoccupied with work or my family, I like to go to the gym, or, more honestly, I simply want to spend time in my "man cave" by myself to get away from everything and decompress from the stresses of life. I am enthusiastic about commencing the third semester of my master's degree program. I look forward to discussing with everyone! Finally, I am fully prepared to acquire knowledge and develop a comprehensive comprehension of the subject matter covered in this class.)

TO DO:

Answer your classmate's post to the question above. Example (Thanks so much for the discussion. Have you read anything about birth order and leadership? If you're interested, please let me know. I think many who go to organizational leadership positions get a lifetime of reinforcement for their leadership. You had good practice with your siblings!)

Hello, everyone! I'm Alika from Monterey, California, and I work for the Army at the Concord Federal Fire Department. I've been fortunate to learn from great leaders, and I'm eager to soak up knowledge and tools to improve my leadership skills. I'm a servant leader, currently serving as Chief Officer in training and fire prevention. My main challenge as a leader is convincing mission partners that I'm here to support them, not let them down. It can be tough being a firefighter and Chief Officer because you always have that leadership responsibility on your shoulders. Looking forward to learning from all of you in the class!

My name is Elle and in the video is a little about my path of life so far. I will be graduating this Fall. I medically retired form the Air Force in 2021and I have just been focusing on family, self and going to school. I would describe my leadership responsibilities are having an effective communication, team building, decision making, time management etc. I was the leader/supervisor in my work section back in the military which consisted of 6 airmen.

I'm Roger and I'm in the LEAD program, but unfortunately I will not have enough time on my GI Bill to complete the program, but I am very excited to learn more about personal leadership. I would like to learn more on empathy and understanding and how that influences others, but I would also like to learn what my current strengths and weaknesses are at the moment, as life events can impact and change those periodically.

I think personal leadership has the capability of affecting others, but it can also affect our own lives and paths, and our personal fulfillment and well-being.

In our family's small business, it's only a handful of us in the office, but my hopes are to one day expand our operations and lead countless others.

I look forward to working with new and the old classmates I can already see on here.

I love the challenges and rewards this role brings.I've been fortunate to be part of the Stanford Healthcare team for the past four months, and I have been in the healthcare industry for four years

In addition to my professional journey, I'm on track to graduate with a Master of Science in Leadership in the upcoming spring. Outside of work, I call Oakland, CA, home.

Hey folks. Name is Johnnler, and I am a full-time student here at GGU going for my MBA, and I am hoping to get that done by 2024. Life has been pretty mundane the past few months because my wife and I are trying to save for a Northern Lights trip in Scandinavia this upcoming winter break, and we are going to need to save all of our money for that one. My past responsibilities ranged from everything from Staff Sergeant in the Air Force or Quizno's manager in high school. I currently do not lead anybody. My wife orders me around so I guess that currently makes me a follower. I suppose part of this class is to see if I still got it in me or not. That and, leadership is one of my two MBA concentrations (along with project management) so hopefully it serves a strong dual purpose.
