Part 1 is a Personal Leadership Style Assessment. Participants should reflect on the various

leadership models and assessment tools covered in the seminar and text describing observations

about their individual leadership preferences, tendencies, and experiences. Part 1 should

conclude with a leadership development action plan related to the students current position or

career goals in the public sector. (3-5 pages)

Part 2 is an Organizational Leadership Assessment. Participants should assess the organizational

leadership characteristics of their current work environment or that of an organization where they

have had direct personal involvement. The assessment should reference application of leadership

models covered in the seminar and text (minimum of two) and should address the impacts and

implications of the leadership approach on the organizations success, productivity, and public

profile. (5-7 pages)

Papers should be double-spaced and may include up to two additional pages as

attachments/exhibits referenced in the body of the paper. Content should be specific and

persuasive in applying material from seminar discussions, exercises, and the text. References are

required and should be formatted in APA style.
