By using lean thinking a supply chain can help eliminate waste associated with the production of product making. This helps keep costs down and saves money. Inventory systems and data are improved as well. Kaizen is a term that is adapted within the workplaces that implement lean thinking. It means that the work is on a path to improve constantly (Kaizen What Is It?, n.d.). With this frame of mind workplaces can develop and instill work habits that are beneficial. Communication is open and teamwork is established in a positive manner that has a good effect on the supply chain. Apps such as the ones that Walmart have developed that allow customers to order items and track shipment and delivery is an example of implementing lean thinking into relationships with customers that make the process easier for both the client and the supplier. Establishing a customer service base or representatives to hep resolve conflicts for customers is a way to maintain satisfaction with the product or order. Producing products with specific requirements can be produced and still not be in control. A supplier may be able to develop some forms of the product but some products with specific requirements may not be able to be produced. To resolve the issue the production line will have to be assessed and changes made in accordance to meet the requirements of the product (Staff, 2022)
