Learning Outcomes:
LO2: Assemble functional requirements in terms of use cases and user stories for a software system.
LO3: Construct a software artefact to a derived specification.
LO4: Generate a functional test plan for a developed system.
Assignment Brief:
Software Engineering concepts that are needed to develop effective software artefacts that can meet basic functional requirements of a given problem. It introduces the main steps in the process of developing such systems, from requirements analysis through to their implementation and testing.
This is a team-based assignment to plan and execute a software project.
Team's task is to plan and create an application.
There are three main tasks in this assignment.
1. Requirements determination and project planning
2. Design Documentation and Test plan
3. Project delivery and support
Scenario
You are currently working for a computer software company High-tech Solutions. The renowned school Excellence education approached your organisation to build a calculator application for their students of different grades.
Students are required to provide their login name and password to use the calculator of their grade. Teacher can do login by their id if they wish to add or delete any functionality in students calculator as per the requirement of the grade.
The project is assigned to your team. Your team is responsible to work on the project as per the customer requirement. You must define the responsibilities among the team members for the successful execution of the project.
Task B- Design Documentation and Test plan
In this section you will develop the design for the project and produce a test plan that allows the requirements to be achieved. You will be required to produce the following artefacts and submit them in one document
a) A functional decomposition for your design(Data flow diagram)
b) A data model for any proposed information storage(E-R diagram)
c) User interface Design
d) A test plan for the project
Assessment Criteria
B Design Documentation and Test plan [40]
1 A functional decomposition for design(DFD) 10
2 A data model for any proposed information storage(ER Diagram) 10
3 User interface Design 10
4 A test plan for the project 10

Task A- Requirements determination and project planning
In this section you will identify the requirements for the project and produce a project plan that will lead to the project being completed. You will have the opportunity to discuss the project requirements with your tutor. You will be required to produce the following artefacts.
a) Project plan, A document which justifies and outlines the software process model you will be implementing. This will include a time estimate of phases and a discussion of specific team roles.
b) A Requirements analysis documents including at least three appropriate use cases
