Legendary League is a video game league running a major tournament. Over a season, players
compete in many matches to win rounds of classic 2D video games. Within the league, there
are several local teams, identified within the league by a Team ID. Each team has a team name,
a manager, a sponsor (optionally), and several member players. When a player is new to the
league, they may not have picked a team yet, but once they do, they stay with that one team.
Legendary League wishes to track players ages and names, and lets each player choose a
unique alphanumeric nickname.
Each match has an official Match ID, a Match title, game type, and date, and has at least one
round. A round is a distinct part of a match with a unique name and specific gameplay settings.
The database should track players round results specifically: a players position in the round
(e.g. first, second, third), and score (as measured by the particular game).
Bearing in mind the games differ across matches, and each game has its own scoring
mechanism, league winners (both teams and players) are chosen based on League Points.
Judges award League Points based on difficulty and gaming skills exhibited during all the
rounds of a match - players are awarded Player League Points while teams are awarded
Team League points based on the performance of the teams players in the match. The
winning team for each season in Legendary League is determined based on the team points
earned over the seasons tournament. The leagues MVP for the season is chosen based on
player points.
