You are allowed to work in by yourself (one person total) or with one other person (two people total). No matter how many people you have in your group, you must answer two questions. Read all instructions carefully. You may only ask Ken (your TA), your group member (if you have one) or Dr. Melcon questions. Out of the following three questions, you (or your group) will choose two as your particular questions of interest. 1. The Data We have three data sets, posted on SmartSite, under Datasets, Project I: I. weather.csv: This contains information on the number of deaths of four dierent types of extreme weather in one year in the US. T indicates a tornado, FF indicates a ash ood, B indicates a blizzard, and L indicates lightning. II. prison.csv: This contains information about the length in sentences (in years) for crimes of a similar severity for males and females. III. degree.csv: This contains the temperature (in degrees Fahrenheit) of a particular city in the US during a particular month. 2. The Questions The basic questions of interest to be answered (respectively) are: I. weather.csv: Are certain weather conditions more lethal than others? II. prison.csv: Does sentencing length dier by gender? III. degree.csv: Is the median temperature signicantly above 77 degrees Fahrenheit (which was last years temperature)? You must be specic about any signicant ndings you have. 3. The Report Format Each question should be a short report. This means you write in full sentences, and have the following sections for each question, while being as specic as you can about your results: 1 I. Introduction. State the question you are trying to answer, why it is a question of interest (why might we be interested in the answer), and what approach you are going to take (just the name of the approach). II. Summary of your data (and only the data you are using for the question). This should include things like plots (histograms, boxplots) including the interpretation of the plots, and summary values such as sample means and standard deviations. This is where you should justify which non-parametric technique you are using. III. Analysis. Report back condence intervals, test-statistics, and p-values, nulls and alternatives, etc. You may use tables here, but be sure that you organize your work. Remember to write your results in full sentences where possible. IV. Interpretation. State your conclusion, and inference that you may draw from your corresponding tests or condence intervals. These should all be in terms of your problem. V. Conclusion. Summarize briey your ndings. Here you do not have to re-iterate your numeric values, but summarize all relevant conclusions. 4. Details Your report should be the following format: i. Typed. ii. A title page including your name/s, the name of the class, and the name of your instructor (me). iii. Treat each question as a small, stand alone report. Then staple them together at the end. iv. Double-sided pages. v. An appendix of your R code used to produce the results. Do not include in R code in the body of your report. Additionally, see the following: 1. While you must use R/Rstudio to produce your results, you do not have to turn in a .html that is produced by your .Rmd. You may use whatever word processing tool you choose. However, do not copy and paste raw, unformatted R output into your report. You must spend a bit of time formatting them, which may be as simple as putting them in a table. 2. You may NOT ask other groups any questions, including \"What are you doing?\
