Brother in Arms? In the ageless Epic of Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh sets out with Enkidu into the Cedar Forest. As their journey unfolds, they vanquish Humbaba and triumph over the Bull of Heaven. As one would expect, after accomplishing these great feats, they solidified quite a bond in battle. However, after further examining the dynamic between them, their relationship might be beyond just brothers in arms. Since this epic poem takes place during the Mesopotamian era, certain behaviors that these friends demonstrate to one another might be interpreted as homosexual that the relationship between Enkidu and Gilgamesh is that of sexual cogitation rather than that in current times.
