ll Lab Report II Experiment T: Simple Harmonic Motion percent difference was 1.9%. For the massspring experiment, the average percent difference was 1196. This could have been due to random error occurring when the ball was released: it could have possibly been released differently each time or with a little extra force applied at some point rather than others. The frequency could have also played a part in our error just because tinting could have been more accurate Trvhile counting the oscillations of the ball. L'nproperly measuring the amplitude could be an additional cause of error as well. Despite the average percent error differences, they remain fairly constant when calculating the data. Conclusion In conclusion of the experiment: the pendulum and massspring were both able to represent a simple harmonic motion. In manipulating the length? amplitude, and mass on the pendulum= we were able to conclude that only the length would be a factor affecting the period of the pendulum. In the mass-spring portion of the experiment) it was determined that the mass and the spring constant affect the period of the spring. Error could have been reduced if there would have been more precise timing of the oscillation and knowing exactly when to stop counting the oscillations of the spring. tCererall= the experiment was successful in demonstrating the movements of simple harmonic motions
