Logic Circuits: Term Project 1. Title: Design of simple logic circuits and its verification 2. Purpose: To learn the problem solving skills and the applications of the course contents 3. Goals: Devise a logical problem or choose an elementary technology in signal processing and communication. Implement the corresponding logic circuit and verify the circuit. A. Realization of a logic circuit and its verification for a real-life application. B. or logic circuit design of basic elementary technology or component of signal processing, communication or other topics in electrical engineering. 4. Methods A. Conversion of everyday life convenience solution or applications to a logical problem, search of basic communication or signal processing scheme and derive the corresponding logic function. B. Realization of the logic function using Boolean algebra and the implementation of its logic circuit. (Use of decoders, encoders, muxes is preferred.) C. Circuit realization and verification using 'Simaid' 5. Procedure A. Phase 1: Topic selection (real-life problem or a basic technology in electrical engineering) one page proposal (as soon as possible, should get TA's approval) B. Phase 2: Description of the chosen real-life problem or a basic technology, conversion of a logic problem, logic design(truth table and logic function), implementation (SimUaid), verification (SimUaid) Final report (Due: June 6th, Saturday) 6. Examples (Forbidden topics) (These are too popular to fairly evaluate the student's excellence and efforts.) A. Air conditioner controller B. Coffee or beverage bending machine C. Transportation transfer system, (cross-road) traffic signal controller D. Building entrance control Logic Circuits: Term Project 1. Title: Design of simple logic circuits and its verification 2.
