Looking for a way to reply to this post; When looking at a company's procurement, all companies need to operate within the laws and regulations set by state and federal laws. From there, companies need to ensure that their suppliers operate ethically. Companies want the big picture of their company and where they work, not to have any negative aspects that deter customers from shopping with them. Customers also will look at how a company operates and are less willing to buy products from a company that operates unethically. A good example would be makeup companies that test their products on animals; most women are not going to want to purchase products from companies that use this process. Price is going to be a factor as well; everyone is looking to get the best deals on the products they want to buy. At the same time, consumers will be willing to pay more for products if they know that the company is working on going greener and are treating their employees fairly. Simultaneously, companies must get creative in selling their product while working on going green. Starbucks is an excellent company to use as an example of a company that operates ethically, working on going greener, and still offering products and a reasonable price. Starbucks shows that it is possible to be sustainable and keep the focus on the triple bottom line and make a profit.
