Louis is in the last stages of breast cancer. She was recently admitted to a hospice program. Her husband Henry is relieved to have a hospice nurse in the house to help him with his care. After having been with the nurse at home, Henry asks her when will the chemotherapies begin as an outpatient for his wife, to which the nurse responds: "I thought you were clear that the treatments would no longer help Louis and that he was not going to receive any more treatment once he started palliative care "to which Henry responds that he does not agree and that he will do everything possible to save his wife. How could this misunderstanding have been avoided? What discussions did Louis and Henry have to have before she entered hospice care? What could hospice programs do to better inform the general public of their purpose?
