M06 Research Project: COVID-19

The purpose of this assignment is to review the response to COVID-19. How did this affect the Supply Chain as a whole, then how did it affect each individual component? In this assignment, you will choose a company and research its response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Before you choose your company, be sure that you can locate the following information about your company

1. How did the pandemic affect their operations?
2. Did they change or diversify their product line/operations due to COVID-19?
3. What protocols or procedures did they implement due to the pandemic?
4. Be able to summarize or construct a financial cost of the pandemic to the operations.
5. Be able to give your response to changes that should have occurred knowing what we know now.

This assignment will take some forethought and critical thinking. This is not just strictly your opinion, this is a research assignment that will allow you to dive deep into a company, discover the creative (or possible failures) in their journey to overcoming the new normal, and use your knowledge to construct an operation plan. This may be a great time to reach out to local employers, make a connection, and ask them if you can chat about their response to COVID-19.

Instructions

Complete the following steps:

• Write a research paper with at least 3 credible sources. (do not use Wikipedia). You will write a 3-5 page paper describing the COVID-19 response. Use the following outline to construct your research paper.
  • Paragraph 1: Introduce your company, what do they do/manufacture, etc
  • Paragraph 2: Describe their COVID-19 operations.
    • Did they change, diversify, or temporarily suspend operations?
      • NOTE: even if they suspended operations, there will be changes. Document those.
  • Paragraph 3: Alternate responses. Knowing what you know about the company, how would you manage the response? This is not just an opinion piece. This is a formulated response based on the knowledge you gained in your research. You should have some sources here that support your solutions.
  • Paragraph 4: Financial Impact: What was the financial impact to the company with the implemented changes? If you gave an alternate response stating that you would save the company money if your plan was implemented, this is where you explain how those changes would be cost savings.
  • Paragraph 5: Conclusion

Use APA format, Times New Roman, 12-point font, 1-inch margins, and review your document for grammar and spelling errors.

This is a research project. You will need at least 3-5 cited resources. If you are able to make contact with a company, cite the company (and person you spoke with) and then you will only need 1 additional source.
