MA199 Task 4.0: LaTeX Short Report
As part of your assessment for the module MA199, you are required to submit a short report in LaTeX, ideally about the general area in which you plan to choose the topic for your dissertation. (I mean this in a broader sense. I know that you will not have a final topic by the deadline.) The purpose of this report is to assess your basic understanding of LaTeX but also to check that work on your topic is underway. The report must be at least one page excluding the references, but it does not need to consist of more than a couple of pages. Of course, it may be slightly longer if necessary (no maximum limit, as the length of the report will not be assessed).
The report will be assessed in terms of understanding the use of LaTex, rather than its mathematical/statistical content. It will be marked out of 20 as follows:
Produce a LaTeX-sourced report (8 marks or 40%).
Referencing books or/and journal articles, together with the automatic generation of bibliographies (4 marks or 20%).
Correct use of at least one of the following features: 'itemize', 'enumerate', 'tables', 'figures' (4 marks or 20%).
Correct typesetting of at least two relevant numbered mathematical equations, together with correct numbered references to them in the text of your report (4 marks or 20%).
You should prepare the report in a LaTeX editor such as Overleaf or TeXworks. The deadline for submission of the short report is midday Tuesday, 12 March 2024(Week 24) via FASER.
