The San Miguel Corporation became interested in his products and purchased the name and rights to the company in 1925. From its start in 1925, Magnolia branded ice cream was one of the most recognizable and enduring brands in the Philippines and is the oldest Asian ice cream. However, with more choices for consumers and international competition, sales of Magnolia ice cream stagnated in the 1990s. San Miguel Corporation's rebranding strategy for the Magnolia Ice Cream brand has resulted in revenue for the company. In reality, since its resurrection in 2008, the market share has increased from 2% to 10%. Magnolia is currently the country's third-largest ice cream producer.
