The attack occurred because an employee was upset about not receiving a large reimbursement timely. The staff member responsible for processing these requests was confronted in the ofce in front of other employees. Company security and emergency agencies were contacted and the employee attacked was transported to the hospital However. now these employees are concerned about their safety and the possibility of this type of incident occurring in the future. P'reyious non-yiolent confrontations have occurred but were not taken seriously by upper management A meeting was called to discuss the issue and finance employees were given the opportunity to reiterate concerns. Although. most of these employees do not believe significant changes will be implemented as an outcome of the meeting. Currently a security officer.
