Maisy was an elderly woman who struggled with a failing intellect due to her advanced age and taking strong medication for a rare illness over a number of years. Maisy's neighbors Cruz and Lavinia were aware living independently and maintaining her home was becoming increasingly difficult for Maisy. Cruz and Lavinia suggested to Maisy she could consider selling her home to raise a deposit to enter an aged care facility. Cruz and Lavinia offered to buy Maisy's house on very generous terms. When Maisy's granddaughter, who was due to inherit the home, discovers that the property had been sold with undue haste and at substantial undervalue, she confronts Cruz and Lavinia telling them her grandmother will not be going through with the contract.
