Make a checklist of the different hospital departments that the equipment package must process before reaching logistics for purchase. Remember your job as the HTM is to review the package from a BMET's perspective. Think about all the departments that would be affected if I were to purchase an equipment item that needed to be installed into a section and required power and network access. Consider the departments that need to be notified when new items enter their facility. With the purchase of new equipment, an HTM also needs to develop a routine maintenance plan and replacement for the expected life cycle of the equipment. On the checklist provide a summary of what each department is responsible for and how you can verify their job gets completed.
