Canadian Citizenship 221,919 permanent residents became Canadian citizens in 2021-22 Canada also tabled its 202224 Immigration Levels Plan. It aimed to continue welcoming immigrants at a rate of about 1% of Canadas population per year, including

431,645 permanent residents in 2022

447,055 in 2023

451,000 in 2024

On October 7, 2022, the IRCC announced that students would be allowed to work more than 20 hours a week between November 15, 2022, and December 31, 2023. This is a one-time measure introduced to help with Canadas historic labour shortages, particularly in positions traditionally held by students such as food services, retail, and hospitality. However, there are no restrictions on the type of employment.

their emotional and mental health

their desired academic aspirations; or

the appropriate industry work experience required by the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWPP)
