At the end of the contract, ownership of the server will not transfer to MCL. On 1 January 2021, MCL incurred and paid initial direct costs of R10 000 relating to the contract with BTL. On 1 January 2021, MCL has established that the useful life of the server is 5 years with no residual value. The interest rate implicit to the lease is 12%.
