Managers of the company MFG have noticed increased absence among its employees, and the company has decided it needs an absenteeism analysis. It wants answers to the following questions using archival organizational data.

Study the data and use it to complete the following tasks:

  1. Calculate (compute) a new variable (called AbsentRate) for the year using the "AbsentHhours" variable in the data.  The formula for calculating Absent Rate is absent hours divided by total hours multiply by 100(Assume that each employee works 40hrs a week and 52 weeks a year; multiply to get total hours. i.e. Absentrate = (absent hours/2080)*100 (10pts)
  2. What is the annual rate of absenteeism in this organization? Does it vary by gender? (20 pts)--you need to run descriptive analysis .

  3. Can we predict next year's AbsentRate? If so how well? What factor should we consider (which are the best predictors of AbsentRate)?  Run regression here. (20 pts).
  4. What can we conclude based on the analyses? What information should be conveyed to the executives of the organization for a decision? (i.e. how should the organization manage its absenteeism) (10 pts)

NOTE: You may use graphs to augment your responses to the questions where appropriate.

Note: Create report with responses in MS Word (add tables, graphs, where appropriate) and attach. Also attach your Minitab file.
