Marijuana in the Workplace

Critical thinking questions:

1. Do you agree with former President Obama's policy about the conflict between federal and state marijuana laws in which his policy was to take the "no [criminal] challenge" position with states that have legalized marijuana?
2. How do you compare the former President Obama's policy with the policy of former President Trump whose policy challenged state marijuana laws (DOJ,2018) or President Biden's policy that does not approve of the decriminalization of marijuana (Hutchinson,2021)?
3. As a member of management, how would you write the company policy to address legal use of marijuana in the workplace?
4. Should Congress pass the current bill that seeks to decriminalize marijuana as well as expunge the records of those previously convicted to help with the employable issue of persons convicted under federal law?
5. What is your opinion of employers testing employees injured on the job for drug and alcohol as a means of avoiding workers' compensation costs?
