When he came back to the hotel room, he was shocked to find out that the ring on the dresser was missing. He proceeded to call the duty manager and housekeeper to demand an explanation. Mr. Brown was advised by the duty manager that he was only able to take an incident report and the hotel will not be accepting responsibility for the "alleged" missing ring and he pointed to a sign on the dresser that stated;
"Please always lock your luggage and other valuables away. The hotel will not accept liability for lost items."
Mr. Brown was very angry, he demanded compensation of $1 million dollars for his missing wedding ring and advised the manager and housekeeper that they will be hearing from his attorney.
