CASE Greys Refrigeration Over the past three years as an employee of Greys Refrigeration Mark Grants performance has been no less than satisfactory. His supervisor could always rely on him for his timely and accurate submission of assignments. However, for the past three months, his work has been consistently late and incomplete. His work also contained an increasing number of mistakes. It would appear that he was distracted and was not concentrating on his assignments. It was observed by his supervisor and peers that his performance problems started when a new computer system was introduced in the unit. As his supervisor, during one of your coaching sessions with Mark, he mentioned problems using the new software. The decision was taken that he should take advantage of the two-day training session offered by the ICT department. At the end of the two training you met with the instructor to get feedback on Marks performance the instructor informed you that Markbarely participated in the class and that he acted very nonchalant during the entire two days. Despite the training and coaching Marks performance got progressively worse. He had a backlog of work that contributes to the overall non performance of the Unit. His assignments were always late and of course this impacts the performance of other members of staff who relied on him for input in their work. This led to other staff members being asked to carry his share of the work to ensure that the work gets done. Develop a Performance Improvement Plan for Mark to include the following: (a) Diagnosis of his performance problem/s (b) Creation of standards for improved performance (c) Procedures for follow-up and feedback
