ASSIGNMENT

In Porter's view, the performance of individual corporations is determined by the extent to which they cope with, and manipulate, the five key 'forces' which make up the industry structure: the bargaining power of suppliers,the bargaining power of buyer,the threat of new entrants, the threat of substitute products and rivalry among existing firms. Identify an existing business Enterprise (local or global) of your choice and do the following.

(a)Do a SWOT and PESTEL analysis of the business Enterprise in relation to these five forces.

(b)Based on your analysis in (a ) above, Identify Five strategic objectives each targeting the following forces:

(i) Bargaining power of suppliers

(ii) Bargaining power of Buyers

(iii) Threat of substitute products

(iv)Rivalry among existing players (Competitors)

(v)New Entrants

(c)For each of the strategic objectives identified in (b ) above formulate THREE strategies involving use of computer based information systems. The THREE strategies should address cost leadership, differentiation and innovation strategies.
