Mat 233 Lab #2 This lab includes an introduction to GeoGebra and a chance for you to explore some of the topics in chapter 11 with the help of technology. You'll use the drop-down choice "3D Calculator". I recommend watching the video first, but that's your call. Go to geogebra.org and create a free account. There are a couple of apps - a 2D and a 3D version, I believe. I have not tried them yet. Creating an account will allow you to save and share your work. To get credit for the lab, please turn in this lab sheet with your answers filled in. You can do this electronically on the document or print and write it out and take a screenshot. You'll also need to share your work from GeoGebra. Please be sure to label your graphs with the Lab # and problem #. 1. Plot the following quadric surfaces and identify them a. y - x2 - 622 = 0 x2 y/2 2 2 b. 4 9 1 12 22 C. 4 4 y- = 1 d. x2 4 16 2. a. Define two planes in the form ax + by + cz = d and plot them in different colors b. Find the equation of the line of intersection of the two planes c. On the same graph, plot the line, using Curve(Expression, Expression, Expression, Parameter, Start, End) 3. a. Graph the surfaces: x2 + y Intersect Two Surfaces feature 4. If you're interested in more features of GeoGebra, you can check out "How to Make a Pringle" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2rUOV65bYO Feel free to explore. This looks like a very robust program and useful tool. I am just learning it myself and am still trying to figure out why the 'intersect two surfaces' thing doesn't work on two conics - it seems fine with a conic and a plane. I'm using Chrome on a Macbook, so maybe some other combo would work better. Bonus: Graph the two paraboloids and their intersection x2 + yz + 2 = -1 and. x2 + y2 + z= 6
