Matthew is a dealer in antique cars. On 1st July Matthew emails to both Fred and Theo, two of his clients, offering to sell his 1968 HK Holden Monaro Drag car for $60,000. Both Fred and Theo receive the emails of offer on 2nd July. Fred decides to accept and posts his letter of acceptance on the 3rd July. Meanwhile, Matthew realises he may have undervalued his car, so decides to cancel his offer to Fred and Theo. He emails to Fred and Theo on the 2nd July, cancelling his offer. Both Fred and Theo receive the cancellation email. Theo reads the cancellation email but decides to ignore it and on the 5th July, he replies to the email to accept Matthew's original offer. Matthew receives Fred's letter and reads Theo's email on the 6th July. Both Fred and Theo argue that they each have a contract with Matthew. Matthew wants to know if Fred or Theo are correct.
