Or perhaps someone at work is not reporting all of his or her income. If cheating on taxes bothers you, the IRS wants to hear from you (and may make it worthwhile). The IRS has two whistleblower programs. The small-awards program is for situations involving less than $2 million of tax, and the award can be as high as 15% of collections, although it often is less. The large-awards program covers situations involving $2 million or more of tax. Here, the reward can go as high as 30%.
