Members should use the AICPA conceptual framework for independence to

a. Come to conclusions different from the interpretations in the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct.

b. Understand the rules on confidential client information and acts discreditable to the profession.

c. Evaluate threats to independence not addressed in the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct.

d. More easily interpret conflicts of interest and subordination of judgment by a member.
