Can someone help me respond to these 2 discussions post with something that sounds smart and that is intended to keep the conversations going?

Discussion post 1:

Class,

The video (link below) was found to be a credible source for understanding the concepts of the Vroom-Yetton decision-making style model. The narrator / publisher of the video presented concepts outlined in his research and included his sources. Further research indicates that Dr. Wagner is a university lecturer with a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.

This content of the video is consistent with the background materials. The concepts laid out in the video are in line with Rigolosi's, six managerial decision styles that can be considered as a continuum. This video was easy to follow and clearly explains concepts such as Vroom's Decision Model (Tree). The video explains that there is a range of options for including other people in the in the decision-making process from the lowest level to the highest level.

The video also covers Group decision making and explained that group decision making should begin with the manager's statement of the problem or goal and the factors that have to be considered in the situationthose that must continue and those that may be changed just as defined in Rigolosi (2005).

This video also covered autocratic decision I, decision II, consultative decision I, and consultative decision II providing a definition and key factors of each.

The video provides a link to a website for executing the decision-making model where you can state a problem and answer a series of questions. The computer then generates certain decisions based in a similar manner to the decision tree explained in the background material for this course.

Discussion Post 2:

Hello Class,

The Vroom-Yetton model initially seemed like the hardest concept of this course for me since the reading material was pretty "dry." I am more of a hands on/audible learner so the video I found, along with some I have watched from others has definitely helped tie up the loose ends of this module and the Vroom-Yetton model. The first video found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wI06amxoqtI is a 3 minute crash course on the Vroom-Yetton model. It explains what the model is, why it is used, and the different decision making styles a leader can use which are the exact same as the background readings. I do believe this video is credible since they list their sources, and the info is almost spot on to the background readings. However, where this video is lacking is it does not explain the 7 questions and an example of using the model. This video found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJcx3n90DEM is a better option for seeing the model put to use with the 7 questions. Both videos helped me because being able to hear/see the model and decision-making styles in action is a lot easier for me then reading material out of a book.
