Michelle Expecting Certain Outcomes.

Michelle Merlot is a recent Okanagan College graduate who works for ePitch3 (e-pitchcubed), a digital marketing company based in Kelowna. The companys clients include several prominent Okanagan-based wineries and, with the Okanagan Spring Wine Festival coming up in just three weeks, the companys president wanted a new promotional initiative that the company could propose to its winery clients. The president told all the staff that if anyone came up with an idea that was approved and could be ready to launch in the next two weeks, they would be rewarded with a free trip for two to Las Vegas. Of course, this was not part of anyones regular job responsibilities so if anyone wanted to take on this challenge, they would have to work on it on their own time, outside of work hours.

Michelle had a great idea: she wanted to develop an innovative mobile application that allows the user to track their wine visits on their smartphone, record wine tasting notes, compare their wine evaluations to others, and receive notifications about special promotions and events at participating wineries. No winery had anything like this and it would help wineries promote their products and business. Initially she wasnt sure she could get this done, but she spent two weeks working every night on her idea and then submitted her proposed app to the president by the deadline. She hoped her proposal would be successful because she really wanted to win the trip. She had large student loans to pay off, and she had not taken a vacation in a long time. Plus, her best friends birthday was coming up and this would be a nice gift.
