6. Market Concentration In this exercise we are going to explore the evolution of market concentration in the deposits market. For this visit the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) portal (FDIC website) and then click on "Get Deposit Market Share Reports" (almost at the bottom of the website). This will take you to a form that allows you to obtain the market shares of the different depository institutions in the U.S. (a) Using the Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA ) option, select the Boston-Cambridge-Newton, MA- NH. Calculate the 4 and 8 largest firms concentration ratios and the HHI for each five year starting from 1995 up to 2020. Make a graph for each concentration measure. (b) Given your results for part (a) do you think the market for deposits is getting more or less competitive? (c) What are the consequences for consumers of higher concentration in the industry?| (d) Repeat the same exercise as in part (a), but this time use the "State" option and get data for Massachusetts. Which geographical market definition do you think is more relevant when conducting antitrust policy
