Mikes maternal grandparents both passed away in May 2021. They had been married to each other for 60 years and had lived together in the same house for their entire marriage. Mike inherited all of his grandmothers personal property under her will. Mikes cousin Paul inherited all of their grandfathers personal property under his will. When Mike and Paul cleared out their grandparents house, they discovered a painting their grandfather had created of the two of them as children. The painting was hanging on a wall in the living room of the house. Both their grandmother and their grandfather had always used the living room equally. On the back of the painting was writing in their grandfathers handwriting, which said this painting is a gift for my beautiful wife, as thanks for all our wonderful years together. (You can assume their grandmother accepted the gift). Both Mike and Paul want the painting and neither of them is willing to compromise. You can assume that if the painting was the grandmothers property, it would pass to Mike and if it was the grandfathers property, it would pass to Paul.

Advise Mike as to whether the painting belongs to himself or to Paul.
