Mine removal and mine site restoration costs are incurred largely due to exploration and evaluation activities. They are always legal obligations arising from contractual agreements signed by an entity to gain access to mineral resources. It is generally accepted accounting practice to include the undiscounted amount of these costs as part of the carrying amount of development assets.
