Project Submission Steps

You work for a mid$-$size electronics company called Globex. The environment is hybrid Azure AD$,$ with Office $365$ for email and collaboration. Azure is used for user

authentication and SSO $($single sign$-$on$),$ and a few on$-$premise domain controllers are strategically located around the world. Currently, all of the desktops and laptops are running Windows $10$ Enterprise, version $20$H$2.$ Microsoft will be ending active support and security support for this version in ten months, so management wants to upgrade these systems to Windows $10$ Enterprise, version $21$H$2.$After seeing the initial project presentation, the CIO and his lieutenants have signed off

on the plan. It now needs to go to the Project Management Office $($PMO$).$ A project

management office is a group or department within a business, government agency, or

enterprise that defines and maintains standards for project management within the

organization. The PMO strives to standardize and introduce economies of repetition in

the execution of projects.

Your assignment is to create a Gantt chart showing the project plan from beginning to

end, including Hypercare $($see note below$).$

Note: After a software launch, software providers go into hypercare by providing

extra support to their users. This additional support helps new and existing

customers understand how to use the new product, service, feature, or program.

As far as cost goes, the project has been fully funded, so don$$t worry about tracking

expenditures. Just focus on the timeline and milestones.

Submission: You may use Google Sheets to create the Gantt chart.

Gantt Project

$$ The project must begin on June $1,$ and end on February $1(8$ months$).$

$$ The number of PCs and laptops to be upgraded is $800.$

$$ While many applications have been moved to the cloud, there are still $15$ custom

applications that must be able to run without issues on the upgraded Windows

$10$ version.

$$ Security configuration must match CIS Level $1$ controls, although $100$ of the

machines will have to match Level $2.$

$$ Upgrading the hardware is not in scope for this project, so the upgrade will need

to work on the existing hardware.

$$ Milestones for each major phase must be shown on the chart.

Key Considerations:

$$ Globex$$s fiscal year is the same as the calendar year, so $1/1/$ to $12/31.$ You will

need to factor in the month$-$end, quarter$-$end, and year$-$end financial closes in

order to avoid disrupting the financial close process.

$$ The machines are located in the U$.$S$.,$ Brazil, the U$.$K$.,$ Germany, and France. This means different languages, time zones, and holidays.

$$ Test cases will be dependent on feedback from key users, so you will have to

interview them $($remotely of course$).$
