Modbus TCP
This can be run in one of two ways - running both MBPoll and MBSlave on the Remote Lab, or by running MBPoll on your own machine and accessing MBSlave on the Remote lab. If using MBPoll on the Remote Lab please use IP address 192.168.1.30 for the Slave. If running MBPoll on your own machine use IP address 61.69.48.42 for the Slave.. Please use standard port number 502.
1. Alter the Slave ID to 01. Execute FC03, and read the contents of ONLY the first 6 registers using Base 0 addressing (i.e. Relative addresses 0 through 5).
2. Use WireShark to capture the request packet.
3. Expand the MBAP header and the Modbus PDU fully within Wireshark. All four fields of the MBAP header, and all the fields of the Modbus ADU (i.e. the Modbus command) must be visible.
a) Provide a copy of the MBAP header below from Wireshark.
b) Explicitly state which fields and values comprise the MBAP header.
Both the Wireshark image and the values stated (by you) are necessary to ensure that there you are correctly interpreting Wireshark
