Module 4: Case Study #8 Due 4/8
Now that you have presented a comprehensive compensation plan to the Owner/CEO, and they really liked your fact driven research and attention to detail, you now think it is a good time to suggest an overhaul to the benefits program. The Owner/CEO wants to grow the business from 20 employees to 100 employees over the next year - business is forecasted to be THAT GOOD. As an HR professional, you know that this means that the required benefits the organization must offer will expand (hint: a lot changes with 50 or more employees). However, you don't believe the Owner/CEO is aware of these requirements. Currently, your company offers paid holidays, 2 weeks paid time off, and all of the required benefits by law.
Your job is to present a new benefits package to the Owner/CEO for when the organization reaches 50 employee or more. In addition, in order to attract and retain top talent, you may want to look at proposing an enhanced voluntary benefits package as well:
(1) Create an enhanced benefits package for the future (when the company exceeds 50 or more employees):
Clearly outline the mandatory and voluntary benefits you would like to suggest
Conduct research on the cost of each benefit (on average) and please cite your sources
Will the company eat all the costs, or will they share them with the employees?
(2) Include all details that you can think of when providing this information. The Owner/CEO tends to ask a lot of questions, after all it is their business and every decision made affects their pocket. Keep in mind, in the real world, you can't rely on an instructor to tell you what is needed for projects like these. It is up to you to figure it out. Use the Internet!!! There is so much great information out there for HR.
