Module six introduced value-driven leadership. While Authentic Leadership and Servant Leadership are different theories, both leadership styles are grounded in values formed early in life and demonstrated in every aspect of leadership. Neither theory require a title or position to be a leader. As you reflect on module six, the readings, videos, and discussion, respond to the following question:
- What reading, video, or assignment stood out for you and why?
Often, Authentic and Servant leadership is the result of a crucible in your life. A good example of a crucible was discussed by Ali Fett (2017) in her story shared in her TEDxFondDuLac talk, as well as Bill George (2009) in his struggle with passion for his work. Think about a time in your life when you experienced adversity and describe a crucible that changed your life.
- How did you feel at the time you were experiencing the crucible?
- What did you learn from your crucible?
- In what ways did it help you to grow?
