While most literature is focused on leadership, followership is an essential component of the leadership process. Certainly, a leader's influence is dependent on a follower's reciprocity and cooperation. An interesting perspective on followership is Perspective 3: Followers Challenge Leaders. Recall a time, as a follower, you challenged a leader or witnessed a challenge by a follower. What was the outcome?

When using an adaptive leadership approach to address situational challenges what component or components of the process (get on the balcony, identify the adaptive challenge, regulate distress, maintain disciplined attention, give the work back to the people, and protect leadership voices from below) would be most difficult for you? What component would be your strength? Explain why.
