Monty owns the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, his loyal employee Smithers worked for Monty for over 30 years. Right before he retired, Monty told Smithers that the company would pay for health insurance for Smithers and his spouse for the remainder of both of their lives. Smithers received this great news by internal company memo with Monty's signature.A couple of years after Smithers' retirement, the Plant was not making the profit Monty wanted and being his ruthless self, he wrote a letter to inform Smithers that the Plant was immediately terminating its payment of health insurance for Smithers and his spouse. Smithers sues Monty and the Plant to force them to live up to their agreement.
