(More of an opinion question and anything helps) So I'm considering doing a research project in my sports economics class. I was thinking about basing it off the question "does building a fan base require success? Does it require good hitting or pitching? Or is it largely based on other factors like (market size, history, etc)? I want to relate it to attendance as well but I'm not sure how to go about organizing the data. Basically I want to get the top five and bottom five MLB teams and compare the attendance,(some way of measure if the hitting of each game), and (some way of measuring the pitching from each game) to determine if any of these factors correlate with each other. For example: does the more home games won with a high on bat percentage increase the attendance each game? I just need an outline on how to put all of my information together! Thank you in advance
