Most of the questions asked, in our course, revolve around "What to invest in?" It is very good to see many of our colleagues interested in investing. This is a sign of wanting to be part of our society and economic ecosystem. When investing it is very helpful to know about the financial markets ( which a single course of corporate finance can not cover). Here are two "things" from financial markets which are very useful to know and few related questions. 1. "registration" of securities/financial assets. What is this "registration"? Who must register securities? Who is exempt from registering securities? Importantly, what does that mean for investors, and people ( like many of our colleagues) which want to invest? 2. "Accredited Investor". What does being an accredited investor mean? What qualifies someone to be an accredited investor? Out of the assets owned by individuals, what is the proportion of financial assets owned by accredited investors? Importantly, what does the existence and activity of "accredited investors" mean for "would be" investors? I am sure that looking into these two things (i.e. registration of securities and accredited investor status) will bring interesting insights for those interested in investing.
