Mr. John Rodgers, a travel agent, arrived at Ottawa International Airport. He picked up his luggage and found the limo for the Chateau Cat Hotel. He gave his luggage and lap top computer to the driver and asked that they be given to the bell staff of the hotel. Mr. Rodgers then proceeded to take a cab to a well-known restaurant, Chez Trudeau. After a pleasant, but long meal, Mr. Rodgers proceeded to the Chateau. Upon arrival the clerk informed him that a room was not available, but that a reservation had been made at the Lord Buff across the street. They further informed him that his luggage was already at the Lord Buff. The luggage never arrived at the guest's room, and he is now suing the limo, The Chateau Cat, The Lord Buff and Chez Trudeau for recovery.

1.Under what grounds can Mr Rodgers sue these people individually.

2.Individually, what defense can each person use against the law suit.
